High-Income Dairy Producers Disqualified in Macedonia
The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) has disqualified a group of taxpayers with the highest incomes and profits involved in the production of cheese and cottage cheese within Macedonian dairy farms, according to records maintained by the agency. This action follows routine inspections conducted by the FVA, resulting in the seizure of 91 samples of milk, dairy, and dairy products originating from home-based production. The disqualification targets producers primarily engaged in the manufacture of cheese which, alongside cottage cheese, represents a key component of their product offerings.
Notably, some of the more established dairy producers, frequently recognized for high incomes, also produce other dairy products alongside their cheese and cottage cheese. These producers largely operate within domestic small-scale sales channels, though a segment engages in export activities. Variations exist in producer locations, with some maintaining strong regional ties and others operating primarily within urban areas.
