A Macedonian court in Skopje has issued a verdict following a four-year legal proceeding involving the family of Orce Todorovski, the wounded General Director of JSP “Skopje.” The lawsuit was filed against Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovski and the Skopje City administration, alleging defamation and damages. The court established that during a press conference held on December 6, 2022, statements made by Arsovski were deemed untruthful. These statements, according to the court’s findings, resulted in both physical injury and financial detriment to Todorovski.
Consequently, the court ruled that slander had occurred. The judgment specifies that Danela Arsovski is liable to pay Todorovski 100,000 dinars to compensate for material losses. Furthermore, the verdict mandates that Arsovski must also pay an additional 100,000 dinars in compensation for non-material damages.
This ruling concludes the legal action before the Skopje court, addressing the dispute between the director’s representative and the city’s leadership. The decision formalizes the financial liabilities stemming from the statements made by Arsovski during the public forum.
