Владата внимателно ја следи состојбата – ИМА ДОВОЛНО НАФТА, НЕМА МЕСТО ЗА ПАНИКА

The energy situation is closely monitored, and the Government will intervene if necessary. Currently, the situation is not out of control, and we will not escalate matters or add more than what is needed. We have sufficient energy reserves, and agreements are in place with retailers to inform the Market Inspectorate if they observe rising input prices for products.

Finance Minister Gordana Dimtrievska-Kochoska stated this on Channel 5, clarifying that this crisis differs significantly from 2022. The Ministry of Finance can respond only after a state of emergency or martial law is declared. Daily analyses are conducted regarding developments in the Middle East and oil price movements, with the Ministry’s actions contingent on such declarations.

On Tuesday, there was no proposal for a state of emergency due to a decrease in oil prices. Comparisons are made with 2022, where oil prices reached $117 per barrel on March 12th, compared to today’s price of approximately $100. She emphasized that oil companies confirmed sufficient reserves during a meeting.

There is no shortage of oil, according to these companies, who addressed concerns about fuel availability at pumps, explaining that transport times to stations were the reason for the delay. No company reported a lack of supply. Responding to opposition criticism regarding delayed measures, Minister Kochoska noted the differences from 2022, citing higher inflation and food price increases.

Current conditions show real wage growth relative to inflation, with lower food price increases. An agreement was reached with retailers to report price changes to the Market Inspectorate. The Government closely monitors the situation and maintains constant communication with stakeholders.
