New phone scam with hanging executions for reasons of conscience

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MV) has received reports of flooding, resulting in property damage, as relayed by the Ohrid Regional Police. Citizens had been alerted through sms warnings regarding the impending floods. These messages informed individuals that a specific vehicle was flagged for immediate clearance due to its location within a flood-affected area.

The Ohrid Regional Police subsequently informed the MV that the sms warnings originated from the Department of Motor Vehicles, integrated within the “Safe City” system. The alerts included an e-mail address, offering a pathway for individuals to verify the clearance details if they promptly paid flood damage claims within a 24-hour period. Furthermore, the warnings specified a 50 percent reduction in fines for payments made one day following the incident’s occurrence.

These fines were intended for subsequent alerts. The Ohrid Regional Police’s information highlighted this specific incentive within the sms warnings.
