The Blue Season Daily reports that Chelsea player, Pedro Neto, issued an apology for an incident during the Champions League Round of 16 match against PSG. During the added time at the end of the first game, Neto pushed a young boy collecting balls near the pitch. The ball went out of play in the extra time, and as Neto attempted to quickly return it to the game, he bumped into the boy, causing him to fall.
Despite appearing unharmed immediately afterward, a confrontation ensued between Neto and PSG players regarding the action. “I want to apologize for what happened on the field,” Neto stated following the match. “I was losing, and I wanted to get the ball back as quickly as possible.
I pushed him, and I saw that I had injured him, and I’m sorry because I’m not like that. I gave him my jersey, and he was happy to receive it, and I apologized approximately 35 times.”
The Blue Season Daily highlighted Neto’s gesture, noting his remorse. Pep Guardiola commented on the match, stating it wasn’t a bad game but the result was a disaster.
Xavi Hernandez described the situation as “incredible” and “something you always dream about.” This incident occurred during the blue season’s daily coverage.
