КОЦЕ И ЧЕН ЧЕН го потпишаа Анекс бр.8 од Договорот за изградба на автопатот Кичево – Охрид

Following the signatures of Deputy Prime Minister for Political Systems, Ljupcho Dimovski, and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikolski on Annex No. 8 of the Kichevo-Ohrid Highway Construction Agreement, Director of the State Roads Public Enterprise, Koco Trayanovski, and the General Representative of Sinohydro in Macedonia, Mr. Chen Chen, the Annex 8 formally enabled the continuation of construction work on the highway.

An additional €186 million has been allocated, with a final completion date set for May 31, 2027. This funding is necessary due to unforeseen construction challenges and supplementary works required to ensure the project’s complete and high-quality execution, encompassing several key activities. These include the stabilization of 14 landslides and the establishment of global stability, the installation of an elastic protective barrier adhering to EN 1317 standards, the construction of a control center, and additional parallel road construction.

These measures have overcome previous obstacles related to the steep slopes and landslides, allowing for intensified construction activities. Notably, significant portions of the highway, including sections from Vrbjani to Botun (13.5 km), Klimeshtani-Ohrid (12.34 km), and 2.12 km, were temporarily opened to traffic on July 13, September 7, and December 31, 2025. Furthermore, access roads for surrounding villages were developed, yielding substantial progress throughout the project’s phases.
