The Skopje Main Prosecution has initiated proceedings against a teacher from the “Lazhar Licnoski” art school, who is accused of committing the criminal offense of “Sexual Harassment” against a student. A previous presiding judge declined to order detention, instead imposing measures to ensure safety. The court issued a ruling ordering the defendant to be prohibited from approaching or contacting the student.
The professor’s passport has been confiscated, and he is forbidden from leaving the country. He is required to regularly report to an official representative of the court. “The public prosecutor submitted a proposal for the determination of precautionary measures in order to ensure the presence of the defendant and to protect the injured party during the further proceedings,” announced the Prosecution.
The “Lazhar Licnoski” case has caused concern among parents and students, who demand full accountability and protection for children from predatory behavior within educational institutions. If found guilty, the professor faces a prison sentence and a lifetime ban from working in education. The incident has prompted a commemorative week in the Kochani tragedy, with a session held in the Parliament to honor the event.
