This development follows a directive issued yesterday by the Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA). The FVA has placed an immediate ban on the use of water sourced from the Gostivar water supply system. This action was taken due to suspicions that the water is contaminated and unsafe for public consumption.
An inspection conducted by the agency revealed that an unauthorized pump had been installed directly into the main pipe of the water supply network. This installation reportedly injects water from the Vardar river into the municipal supply system without the necessary approvals. To mitigate the escalating public health risk in the region, the FVA has mandated a temporary prohibition on using the water for drinking purposes.
