The government is continuing the crisis situation for oil and oil derivatives until October 20

A recent legal settlement has resulted in a decision extending the existing crisis situation in the Republic of Macedonia. This measure was implemented in response to the potential for disruptions in the supply of oil and its derivatives. Under the terms of this new ruling, the crisis situation is set to remain in effect from July 21 through October 20.

The continuation of this status is designed to maintain current institutional postings and prevent the premature lifting of protective measures. These measures will remain in place until there is confirmation of a violation in the supply chain or the occurrence of significant price shocks within the international oil and derivatives markets. The government stated that the purpose of this decision is to establish two legal mechanisms.

These mechanisms are intended to ensure a prompt and efficient governmental reaction should market conditions deteriorate. The primary aims are to stabilize the supply of energy resources, alleviate the potential consequences stemming from market violations, and safeguard the economic interests of the Republic of Macedonia’s citizens. By maintaining the current legal framework, authorities aim to provide a robust response capability against volatility in the global energy sector.

This proactive approach allows relevant bodies to manage potential shortages or rapid price fluctuations associated with crude oil and related products, thereby ensuring continuity of essential services and economic stability throughout the specified period.
