One grenade was removed from the First World War in Bitola

Yesterday at 13:41, one grenade from World War I was recovered in Bitola. The discovery occurred during construction work at Hr. Crnobrnja 12.03.2026 at 15:45 in Bitola.

An explosive device was unearthed during the project. The news of this finding quickly spread via Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and email. A pyrotechnician, representing the Directorate for Security and Salvation of the Unborn, subsequently identified the remains recovered from the waters of the Vardar River.

Authorities successfully removed the device and its associated remains. The police confirmed that the individuals recovered were victims from the Vardar. This incident joins other concerning reports of violence.

Notably, in Skopje, there were recent reports of escalating conflict between young people. These included the use of tear gas, threats involving weapons, and attacks documented via telephone. Police responded to these disturbances, securing the area and identifying those involved.
