A driver, V. K. (62), who collided with the brother of Darko Lazic during a motorcycle incident, has been arrested and brought in for questioning following an order from the Basic Public Prosecution Office in Šabac.
Šabac police apprehended V. K. (62) from that town, suspecting him of driving a “Citroen” vehicle in the Belotić area, near Vladimirac, while turning onto a side road and crossing the path of a thirty-two-year-old motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction.
This resulted in a traffic accident. Darko Lazic’s brother, also a singer Dragan Lazic, tragically died as a result of the crash. According to the Šabac Public Administration Department, he was arrested under suspicion of committing a serious criminal offense against public traffic safety yesterday around 5:00 PM.
The motorcyclist died from his injuries while en route to the hospital. Following the prosecution’s order, V. K.
will be held for up to 48 hours, after which he will be brought before the Basic Public Prosecution Office in Šabac, along with a criminal complaint. The devastating traffic accident occurred near Vladimirci, close to Šabac, where Dragan Lazic, while riding his motorcycle, collided with a passenger vehicle, ultimately passing away in an ambulance on his way to the hospital. Lazic expressed his profound grief, stating, “I will be very brief, I won’t speak much, I even don’t know what to say.
It’s like I’ve lost a part of myself, this is very difficult for me.” He added, “Thank you for coming, please understand, I have no strength for words or tears, I must return home. I’ve lost half of myself, half of my heart. I can’t speak anymore, don’t blame me.”
