Полска спречила сајбер напад врз нуклеарен центар- првите траги водат кон Иран

The Polish government has thwarted a cyberattack targeting its nuclear research center and is investigating potential links to Iran. Officials have warned that indicators may be a deliberate deception to conceal the true location of the attackers. Reuters reported this development.

Poland stated it has been subjected to numerous cyberattacks since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, a claim Moscow consistently denied involvement in. Minister of Digital Affairs, K. Gawkowski, speaking on TVN24+, described the attack on the National Center for Nuclear Research as occurring “in recent days.”

He acknowledged the attack may not have been extensive but emphasized the attempt to disrupt security measures was successfully contained.

Authorities are actively working to address the situation, assuring the center’s safety. Initial identification of entry points suggests connections to Iranian territory. “Following the acquisition of final information and confirmation from the relevant agencies, we will confirm, but there are strong indications that the attack originated from Iranian territory,” Gawkowski stated.

The Iranian embassy in Warsaw has not yet responded to a request for comment sent via email. The center conducts research in nuclear energy, subatomic physics, and related fields. Poland possesses no nuclear weapons and is constructing its first nuclear power plant.
